Title: Better a Diamond with Flaw than a Pebble Without
“Successfully closed a Dot Net Developer Position for an IT client. For the position we presented & convinced the client to recruit a Physically Gifted (DEAF & MUTE) Talent. Both the client & candidate Valued our gesture”.
Our client, located in Chennai was looking for a Dot Net Developer. The Client is a Mid Sized IT Firm & was very specific about their requirement with regards to the Skill Set & Remuneration.
Our Experienced Team Member – Ummheni Mukkadam started the search. The Search was challenging as even though she provided a fair number of relevant resumes, the client shortlisted only one candidate to meet. After the final round of interview, the candidate who was working at a Large Firm, Negotiated Hard & the deal did not fall through. A Disheartened Ummehani had to start from Square One & the Due to the Covid19 Lockdown the Position Went on Hold.
A Month Later, the client asked us to restart the Process. This time they had A bigger Budget constraint due to the Economic Situation because of Covid19. Ummehani then found the perfect profile but was unable to reach the candidate. Only after more research did she learn that the candidate was Physically Gifted (Deaf & Mute). With a Lot more effort, Ummehani was able to reach his younger sister & was able to get his interest for the profile.
The Biggest Challenge was to convince the Client. Ummehani managed to convince the HR Of the company by sharing her Analysis. The HR then convinced the Director to at least take an interview. A Virtual interview would not be possible & we convinced the director to take a Face to Face Interview & a Written Test.
The candidate cleared all the technical rounds of the interview very smoothly. The Negotiation went off rather smoothly & created a Win-Win for the candidate & the client.
The Learning for our team is that it’s always a good idea to give a Fair Chance to all & if you have conviction for a candidate, do all it takes to convince the client.
