Based in Mumbai, a Cybersecurity startup seeked us out to fulfil a couple of requirements. They needed us to find candidates for the positions of Linux System Engineer, Junior Linux System Engineer, Senior Software Developer, OS Software Developer and Linux Embedded Developer.
The mandate was allocated to our team member Yash Madhwani, owing to his experience in the recruitment space and knowledge of the IT industry. Initially, he faced a few challenges due to the extremely technical nature of the profiles. However, after conducting thorough research about the company and consulting the client for a deeper understanding of the terms and requisites, Yash’s quest for the candidates took off. Moreover, the client was also cooperative enough to provide details on their key expectations from the candidates and basic qualifying
questions that helped Yash filter the prospects.
One of the major hurdles faced during this mandate was when Yash began scheduling interviews of his selected candidates, he stumbled upon the realisation that other than Talent Corner, there were three other agencies who were involved in this hiring process. Along with that, the client was also stringent when it came to the candidates’ punctuality for the scheduled interviews wherein they directly rejected late-comers without any justification.
Instead of being hindered, Yash faced these challenges head-on. He followed up with the candidates before the interviews to ensure no tardiness, so that they get a fair chance of consideration by the client. By being in constant touch and prompt reverts, he made sure the client was satisfied with the provided profiles. This led him to outperform the other agencies in spite of being the last agency to come in for the hiring process, as informed by the client.
Despite hailing from a marketing background, Yash’s acumen and efficiency coupled with the detailed briefing from the client led to his success in this hunt, where all the five positions were closed within four weeks. The client was so impressed with how the mandate was handled that their CTO recommended Talent Corner to one of their clients who had recruitment requirements of themselves.
